When Negative Thoughts Creep In

I’d like to think I’m a pretty positive person. I try to extend that positivity to as many people as possible throughout the day because I know and believe in just how contagious it really is.

But just like everyone else, I have days where those negative thoughts start creeping into my head. Today was one of those days for Tom and me.

It started off slow, bringing up little things that could go wrong with our house plans, travel plans, things we want but we can’t have…By the end of the day, we were full on getting ourselves discouraged. Eating ice cream and just bitching. But for what? We both know everything will be just fine. Nothing has even happened yet.


Once we were both fully satisfied with airing out our frustrations and concerns to each other, I think we both felt pretty disappointed in ourselves for even planting those seeds.

The point is, even if we know our plans will work (it will work), once you start talking negatively, and letting fear set in, that’s when you’re in trouble.

Fear and doubt manifest, and you will create issues where they never would have even existed.

The mind is a powerful thing. When you find yourself sliding into those negative thoughts, kick yourself in the ass, and say out loud all of the reasons it will work.

The only thing that can get in your way is you.

From experience, with positivity and determination, things have a pretty cool way of working themselves out. So believe it.
